Utility Operator is an entry level position, which is a great opportunity for recent Second Firemans license recipients and individuals looking to work in the power industry. Motivated Utility Operators that are committed to learning the facility are often eligible for promotion to Auxiliary Operator within a short period of time.
Working under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor. The individual will be responsible for general labor duties including cleaning, painting, grounds keeping, preventative maintenance, operation of skid steer loader, working in the boilers during maintenance, helping to erect scaffolding, moving equipment, loading and unloading trucks, etc.
High School Diploma or equivalent, and the ability to acquire a Massachusetts Hoisting License within 1 year. Must be able to work overtime as needed including nights, weekends, and holidays with minimum notice. Applicants must be able to work in all locations within the plant, under extremes of hot and cold, and in areas of dust, noise and wet conditions. Must be able to climb and work in heights, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. and other manual labor.
