The primary function of the Third Engineer is to operate all equipment and support systems related to steam generation, electric power generation, process cooling, compressed air, wastewater treatment and other systems as assigned in the Utilities Department.
Work Hours – This is a full-time position – The current opening is on the night shift. 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. work hour schedule.This is a 7-day continuous schedule. (3 days one week, 4 the next)
Training to take place on the day shift for up to 4 months/ 40 hours a week schedule
Current hours and days of work may change based on the business need.
Overtime hours will be necessary to cover for holidays, vacations, sick time, etc.
Pay Range is $22.65 - $30.29

Complete employee safety and equipment audits as assigned.
Operate systems related to steam generation, electric power generation, process cooling and refrigeration, compressed air, wastewater treatment and other systems as assigned in the Utilities Department.
Maintain continuous compliance with local, state and federal regulations as they relate to air quality, water quality and safety
Keep the Utilities Chief Engineer informed of operating conditions
Ensure equipment and systems are operated within normal parameters
Maintain proper chemical conditions of steam generation, process cooling and wastewater systems.
Complete logs and records properly and file to demonstrate regulatory compliance at all times
Perform other duties as requested or required
Required Skills and Experience –
Commonwealth of Massachusetts Third Class Engineers License
3+ years of experience working with high pressure boilers and related equipment
Must obtain Grade 3M or higher Municipal Wastewater License within 12 months of start date
Mental and Physical Requirements –
Requires extensive field work walking throughout the facility
Must be able to work in confined spaces
Will need to climb heights including boilers, cooling towers and storage tanks
Dexterity working with tools and machinery
Lift, push, pull heavy objects and equipment
Works with computers, test equipment and other technical devices
