The Co-op General Maintenance Mechanic will work with highly trained technicians and will learn a variety of general maintenance functions, including mechanical services, millwright work, installation of office partitions, patching and painting walls, equipment and plumbing repairs, and carpentry repairs. C&W and our customer Boston Properties are very excited about this opportunity to introduce some new talent into the build trades.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in evaluating the needs of all scheduled and non-scheduled work requests and special projects. Respond to emergency requests and perform repairs through to completion. Some of the tasks that the co-op may be working on are:
It is preferable if the candidate has some type of hands on experience in the field, whether it be vocational schooling or other trades type class.
Will routinely be required to bend, reach and hold awkward positions for prolonged periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and lift and transport equipment in excess of 200 lbs., with others
Observant which requires seeing, hearing, and smelling
Must be physically able to work alone, climb consecutive sets of stairs, and work off ladders, staging, lifts, etc
Work in confined spaces, stoops, and bends for long periods of time, and works on hands and knees and other uncomfortable positions for extended periods
Routinely walks to and from various buildings carrying tools, equipment, and other essentials to the job site
