Service Electrical Apprentice

RELCO – Reilly Electrical Contractors, Inc. is seeking experienced electrical apprentices who have completed at least 2 years of their field hours requirement. This position requires the ability to work at least eight hours per day Monday through Friday with the potential to work overtime hours and weekends as the job requires. This position demands that you are in good physical shape; applicants must be physically capable of performing the work of the trade.

The Service Department is interested in looking for apprentices who are eager and interested to learn, are self-motivated, good communicators, and hard workers. Some on-call hours required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Help build relationships with customers
Provide excellent customer service
Install electrical equipment
Maintain safety in the workplace
Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility
Prepare and assemble conduits
Work overtime when required
Acquire required tools within six months of hire
Install various kinds of wires, cable and conduits in accordance with the requirements
Connect conductors to switches, receptacles or appliances with proper methods of splicing, soldering and taping
Use rotor strippers

Skills Requirements:

Basic electrical and mechanical skills
Knowledge of the electrical code and the ability to research and retrieve information from the code book
Ability to read, understand, analyze blueprints and schematic drawings
Ability to follow directions and decipher technical information
Ability to complete work in a neat, safe, and professional manner
Knowledge of, and ability in, pipe bending, circuit wiring, feeders, services, fire alarm, wire pulling, underground, wiring electrical equipment
Ability to plan and project weekly material and labor requirements


Certification Requirements:

Must be age 18 or older
OSHA 10 certificate, or willingness to complete through RELCO
Valid driver's license
RI and NH apprentices must be enrolled in the state's apprenticeship program
GED or high school diploma
