Route Manager Job Description
Objective:
The Route Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with an
assigned route of customers provided by Suburban Supply. This role serves as the primary
liaison between the customer and the company, ensuring satisfaction with products and
services while driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Relationship Management:
o Develop and nurture positive relationships with customers.
o Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer inquiries and
concerns.
Customer Satisfaction and Consulting:
o Maintain a high level of satisfaction with company products and services.
o Provide expert consultation by identifying and addressing issues related to
warewashing, laundry, and cleaning operations.
Service Scheduling and Maintenance:
o Develop and manage a monthly schedule of preventative maintenance visits,
adjusting as needed while adhering to company policy requiring a minimum
of one monthly service visit per customer.
o Track and maintain appropriate inventory levels through eƯective
communication and use of the company ordering application.
Sales Growth and Account Expansion:
o Identify opportunities for sales growth within existing accounts and
implement strategies to secure additional business.
Equipment Maintenance and Support:
o Perform preventative maintenance on company-owned and customer-
owned equipment, including dishwashers, glasswashers, and hot water
boosters.
o Respond promptly to customer service calls during regular business hours in
accordance with company policy.
o Participate in the rotating and non-rotating on-call service schedule as
required by company policy.
Prospective Client Development:
o Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand both personal and
company growth.
Company Vehicle Management:
o Maintain the company-provided vehicle by scheduling regular maintenance
and promptly reporting any issues to minimize workday disruptions.
Team Communication:
o Foster clear and professional communication with direct reports and office
status regarding all job-related activities.
Compliance:
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and programs to ensure consistency
and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in account management or a related field.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Technical proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting commercial equipment.
Ability to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities.
Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a company-provided vehicle.
Job Type/Pay:
Full-time
From $60,000 per year
