ABOUT YOU
As a 2nd Class Stationary Engineer (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 25), you excel in operating and controlling our central heating plant. You possess strong technical expertise in boilers, chillers, water treatment systems, and related equipment, as well as exceptional attention to detail for monitoring, inspecting, and documenting system performance. Your mechanical skills are invaluable for repairing and maintaining various system components, while your analytical thinking enables effective troubleshooting and decision-making. Adherence to safety protocols, good communication and teamwork skills provide for your overall success and ensure efficient operations and reliable services.
What you will do:
- Drive efficient and reliable operation of the central heating plant by operating and monitoring all systems.
- Ensure optimal performance and sustainability by inspecting and maintaining gas/oil fired boilers, chillers, water quality, and cooling tower systems.
- Foster a well-maintained and safe environment through meticulous repair and maintenance of equipment, documenting all inspections.
- Safeguard water quality and system integrity by conducting tests, repairs, and chemical treatments, while swiftly responding to critical alarms using computer-based control systems software.
What you offer:
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in the operation of power plants required.
- Massachusetts Stationary Second Class Engineer License required.
- Working knowledge of high-pressure boilers, air conditioning chillers, cooling towers, steam turbines, and other cooling equipment required.
- Working knowledge of high temperature hot water systems, pipefitting, and chemical treatments for power plants required.
