Plant Mechanic
Company: Eversource Energy Location: Hopkinton, MA
**This is a contract position with a strong possibility of converting into a permenant role for the right individual.
Rate: $50-54/hr depending on qualifications
The LNG Plant Mechanic will perform testing, maintenance, installation, and calibrations of all mechanical equipment located at the Facility in accordance with the Facility schedule requirements. The LNG Plant Mechanic will also perform preventative maintenance activities for all mechanical systems and equipment. The LNG Plant Mechanic will also troubleshoot and address maintenance issues identified by plant personnel.
Typical task breakdown:
• Support all Eversource Safety and Environmental initiatives.
• Ensure Eversource corporate requirements and policies are followed.
• Communicate effectively with plant supervision, coworkers, maintenance department, engineering departments, and outside contractors, as required.
• Assist in abnormal requests/repairs or emergency response after hours on an as-needed basis.
• Apply approved standards, procedures, and schedules to ensure the reliability and integrity of mechanical plant components.
• Develop procedures, repair plans, inspection and testing plans, and other mechanical requirements to ensure compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations and other regulatory requirements.
• Act as liaison to external mechanical contractors brought in to perform repairs at the Facility.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and calibration activities in accordance with the Facility’s schedule.
• Maintain and follow applicable manuals, records, and reports for all mechanical equipment.
• Clean and maintain equipment, tools and general work area

Education & Experience Required:
• Required High school Diploma
• Five years relevant mechanical experience and demonstrable/verifiable knowledge of mechanical equipment operation
• MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
• Ideal candidates will have: MA 1B Hoisting License, 2A Excavators HE License, & 3A Electric & Air Powered Hoisting Equipment License.
Technical Skills
• Effective communication with different groups, including operations staff, maintenance staff, engineering departments, human resources, federal, state, and local regulators, external stakeholders, and other Eversource corporate groups.
• Keep accurate equipment logs and records.
• Ability to successfully complete all company sponsored training programs.
• Ability to understand and implement maintenance procedures
• Experience and ability to perform precision alignment and balancing of rotating equipment.
• Experience performing pipefitting. (Making up flanges, threading pipe, material selection)
• Experience performing installation and maintenance of industrial machinery.
• Experience performing rigging and hoisting.
• Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators).
• Knowledge and experience working with Lock-Out Tag Out (LOTO).
