Security Service Technician

A leading provider of security and low-voltage solutions is looking for a Service Technician to join our team. This role involves servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mission-critical security systems across a variety of industries, including high-security environments. Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and upgrade security and wireless communication systems including CCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection.
- Install, terminate, and manage low-voltage cabling following best practices and compliance standards.
- Perform detailed site surveys to assess client needs and recommend upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose network connectivity and system performance issues (wired and wireless).
- Provide accurate documentation of service calls, test reports, and system certifications.
- Ensure compliance with fire-stopping requirements for any penetrations made or found.
- Work directly with the Service Team Lead to provide daily status updates on service calls and projects.
- Interpret floor plans, specifications, and technical documents to ensure proper installation and servicing.
- Deliver professional customer service in sensitive and occupied environments.
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in servicing, installing, and maintaining security and low-voltage communication systems.
- Experience with mission-critical security systems (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, Wireless Communication).
- OSHA 10 Certification.
- MA State D-License (Required for MA security work).
- Experience with low-voltage infrastructure, terminations, and cabling per BICSI and local/state codes.
- Ability to travel throughout New England (MA, RI, CT, NH, ME).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, system troubleshooting, and device connectivity (LAN and Internet).
- Proficiency in using testing tools, crimp tools, and other construction-related equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in detention facilities, prisons, courts, and other high-security environments.
- Experience with security platforms such as Honeywell Pro Watch, Software House, AMAG, Genetec, DMP, Avigilon, Hirsch, Lenel S2, Bosch, Milestone, Ceragon, Cambium, Siklu.
- Industry and manufacturer certifications.
- RI TST Data License.
- Firestop Certification (Hilti or 3M).
- Boom and Scissor Lift Certification.
Work Conditions
- Must be available for off-hours work (second/third shifts, weekends) as required.
- Participation in on-call service rotation as needed.
