Job Summary: Maintenance Technician

Responsible for the operation and general maintenance of an assigned building(s) MEP and Life Safety equipment and systems. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

• At the direction of senior level engineers, assist in the overall maintenance and upkeep of property Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Life Safety Systems.
• Promote a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures as outlined in the company safety manual.
• Provide a timely response to tenant work order requests for assigned building or group of buildings.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of critical areas and equipment.
• Perform patching and painting in common areas and mechanical spaces as needed.
• Assist with the replacement of air filters and belts on HVAC equipment.
• Replace lightbulbs and lamps, notify Electrician when ballast change is required.
• Make light plumbing repairs to faucets, soap dispensers, toilets, and restroom partitions.
• Escort and oversight of outside contractors ensuring that building standards are maintained.
• Required to take part in on call rotation for afterhours emergencies.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• High School Diploma and/or vocational training is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook 365.
• Ability to perform the following but not limited to; manual labor, lifting equipment/materials upwards of 50 lbs, climbing ladders, standing, and stooping for long periods of time as needed.
• Proficient in the use of a variety of tools and specialty equipment for maintenance purposes.
• Ability to listen, learn and follow instructions to work effectively as part of the engineering team.
• Strong written and verbal skills required to effectively communicate with Management, Tenants, and vendors.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
