SECURITY TECHNICIAN - JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose:

Security Technicians are responsible for tasks associated with the installation and repair of Security Camera, Access Control & Intrusion Systems along with doors and door hardware. The job description listed is an overview and is not all inclusive.

Specific Job Description:

 Service and install Security Camera, Access Control and Intrusion detection equipment.

 Run cabling, make connections, program and test installed equipment.

 Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair security systems and/or equipment.

 Perform preventive maintenance and repair as per the client’s agreement and/or warranty.

 Position requires an on-call rotation schedule. Technician needs to be available to answer customer calls after normal business hours and on weekends/holidays depending on the rotation order.

 Perform additional security systems related functions as assigned by the team lead and deemed within the general skills and ability level of a security technician in our industry.

 Responsible to update the lead technician on the status of work performed daily.

 Inform team lead of any materials needed to complete duties.

 Ability to read and comprehend building plans, project instructions/work orders & installation manuals in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures have been met.

 Strong knowledge of various security systems and networking.

 Perform a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

 Minimum 2-3 years of experience installing, servicing and repairing security camera, access control and intrusion detection systems or equivalent experience in a related field.

 Valid MA class D or journeyman’s electrical license preferred.

 Ability to pass a background check.

 Valid MA Driver's License.

 Required to adhere to OSHA Safety Standards.

 OSHA 10 hour certification will be made available to each employee.

 Attend required manufacturer training to obtain necessary certifications.

 Occasional travel may be required
