HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary

EMC Services has an immediate opening for an HVAC Service Technician to provide preventative maintenance and repairs for HVAC systems in commercial buildings in Rhode Island. Our field technicians are an integral member of the EMC services team and are face to face with our customers every day. This position is full time at the same location in Newport, RI with over 50 buildings that range from high security, general office space, and hotel style rooms.

The HVAC Service Technician will follow the preventative maintenance schedule for each month and also respond to service calls and repairs. There are over a hundred PMs schedule each month on HVAC equipment such as air handling units, packaged rooftops, heating and cooling coils, DX cooling systems, chillers, terminal units, cabinet heaters, fan coil units, PTACs, etc. A strong attention to detail is important and completing documentation neatly and accurately is critical to insure all paperwork is complete and submitted on time.

This position is at a customer site where we have been performing work for over 15 year. We are looking for a professional technician, with solid communication skills, someone that takes pride in their work, and is interested in finding creative solutions to problems that can be resolved quickly, efficiently and cost effectively.

Responsibilities and Duties

Complete the PM tasks for each piece of equipment on time each month.
Respond to service calls as they are dispatched.
Daily planning to identify emergency situations and prioritize accordingly.
Work with the EMC Services team at this site to coordinate efforts and work schedule.
Paperwork must be complete, accurate and on time.
Ability to work "on-call" every three weeks.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must possess a Rhode Island or Massachusetts license in refrigeration or pipe fitting.
5+ year of experience with HVAC service, construction, installation or repairs.
Ability to complete basic PM tasks including replacing or adjusting fan belts, replacing filters, greasing motors.
Experience with repairs of HVAC, piping and refrigeration systems on fans, motors, pumps, steam and water piping, DX cooling, valves and dampers.

This is a full-time position, $28-$30/hr, MA or RI HVAC Refrigeration or Pipefitter license required, 3 years experience in service or construction.
