Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Technician responds to all Facilities Request tickets, schedules service vendors, monitors building systems and grounds, ensures programs are effective, identifies the need for additional resources, and provides a timely and customer-focused facilities, maintenance and logistics support to the health centers and administrative offices. This position coordinates all phases of facilities and building logistics, in support to the Director.

Compensation: $19-21/hour.


-Respond to Facilities tickets

-Capable of minor repairs and maintenance and can provide handyman tasks that do not require a permit

-Place orders for office, kitchen and bathroom supplies, stock copy rooms with paper, and maintain staff kitchens and office supply closet

-Receive deliveries which include inventory, non-inventory, and WB Mason orders that are dropped off with appropriate departments and personnel

-Verify all incoming packing slips with purchase order numbers and ensures that receipts are accurate

-Distribute mail to department mailboxes and stamps mail for end-of-day pickup

-Schedule and coordinate routine and special repair for medical and building equipment

-Schedule and oversee annual inspections (Elevator, Fire Systems, Fire Extinguishers,Etc)

-Schedule special facility cleanings (such as carpet, garage, refrigerator, and window cleanings)

-Conduct quarterly Facilities Risk Assessment audit and an Annual Security audit at PPLM Health Centers

-Keep the Facilities maintenance page and licensure page up to date

-Oversees projects and assures work is completed tospecifications

-Enter service vendor invoices in ReQlogic

-Empty shredding bins and schedule trash and recycling pickup

-Maintain orderly and debris-free stockrooms

-Coordinate and document emergency drills

-Assist with logistics of on-site projects and special functions

-Assist Director with space planning and renovation projects

-Report urgent maintenance needs to the Director

-Perform other duties as directed


-HS Diploma with minimum of 2 years’ experience in facilities coordinator role or equivalent

-Minimum two years of general handyman work

-Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, and insurance for traveling to and from PPLM locations

-Demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail

 -Ability to communicate with Facilities vendors

-Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines

-Ability to build and maintain strong working relationship with colleagues and vendors

-Strong customer service and problem-solving skills

-Ability to be flexible and adaptable

-Ability to remain calm in high-stress, fast-paced environment

-Strong communications skills, both verbal and written

-Must be able to respond to facilities emergencies by phone outside business hours as needed

-Must be able to maintain confidentiality

-Able to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, sit, talk, hear, stand, bend, walk; use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use repetitive motions of the hands and wrists

-Project management experience preferred
