The HVAC Technician position is located at Cape Cod AFS, Massachusetts.
InDyne is looking for an experienced HVAC Technician who performs maintenance and repairs on all types of air conditioners, refrigeration equipment, heating equipment and their related controls/components. Maintains, adjusts, repairs, installs, tests and operates all heating, refrigeration, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Works from prints, sketches, diagrams, handbooks and manufacturer's instructions to analyze, diagnose, adjust and restore malfunctioning heating, air conditioning and ventilating systems in order to ensure efficient operating conditions. Checks, balances, calibrates, adjusts and modifies systems and equipment after installation, modification or overhaul. Utilizes preventive maintenance schedule. Records and logs work performed such as date or problem, explanation of problem, what was replaced and/or repaired on the controls and components of each system.
Responsible for ensuring that all work is performed and completed as specified by contract, engineering drawings and specifications and applicable codes. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. May be required to participate on special teams, including but not limited to, snow removal, emergency response and must be responsive to off-hour emergencies.
Educational/ Training Requirements: High School Diploma
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains operates, troubleshoots, evaluates, repairs, adjusts and calibrates heating, refrigeration, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including pneumatic electronic and mechanical control systems.
Performs industrial water tests and treatment.
Utilizes and updates engineering drawings and maintenance manuals and instructions. Maintains complete logs, files and historical records of malfunctions and repairs of assigned equipment.
Operates and maintains the Facility Monitoring System (FMS) to control, obtain status, reset alarms and respond to indications of equipment malfunctions.
Performs corrosion control, maintains operation and maintenance records and performs other duties as assigned.
Assists other civil engineering maintenance workers in the performance of assigned duties.
Performs other duties not limited to general housekeeping, safety and environmental practices, requisitions parts, monitors bench stock and supply point, maintains data/logs/files, complies with security policies and PWS directive publications, completes ancillary training and participates in exercises.
Must have an Active Security Clearance or eligibility.
4 years HVAC industrial experience
EPA Universal Certification (Class IV)
MA Refrigerant License, Large Chiller experience, Oil Burner Technician Certification is desirable
Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
Must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Be able to negotiate multiple sets of stairs without assistance, climb ladders up to fifteen feet, work with high voltages, and can distinguish colors.
Walking, siting, typing, bending and lifting items as required within position requirements.
