Facilities Technician

This facilities technician course has been designed by building managers and mechanics to provide a broad overview of building systems while giving the student an understanding of individual systems pertaining to building equipment.
The course is an overall management approach including the importance of building operations. Managers and mechanics must know how certain types of equipment interact with each other to successfully maintain, troubleshoot, and properly operate. The course also reviews recent federal and state regulations that deal with safety issues and the environment (Lock out, M.S.D.S., Right to Know Act, Confined Space Act, Clean Air Act and Indoor Air Quality [IAQ].

This is a 14 week beginner course designed for the individual who would like to work in the maintenance department of any facility. This class gives a good overall view of many different trades including basic electricity, HVAC, oil, gas and preventive maintenance.
