Maintenance Manager


Position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of maintenance workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment.  Position requisitions for parts and supplies, and fabricates metal parts and tools as needed to maintain efficient operation of machinery and equipment. Directly manages three shifts of 10-12 maintenance personnel


Demonstrates customer service principles

Provides the day-to-day direction of the maintenance workers to achieve the goals set

Observes potential problems and troubleshoots electro, pneumatic and mechanical problems of production equipment and related systems in the most efficient way within a reasonable timeframe before causing downtime

Works with and assists production and supervisory personnel in repairing problematic situations during production times in an expedient manner

Implement and maintain master maintenance schedules

Develops solutions to imperfections of mechanical equipment and systems

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments to meet production requirements

Implements and maintains preventative maintenance and work orders systems

Prepare recommendations and purchase orders for approval for requisitioning all parts and supplies needed to maintain and support smooth mechanical operations

Demonstrates safety/OSHA principals and follows proper lockout procedures at all times

Completes projects and other duties that may be assigned

In the absence of the Engineering Manager maintains all food safety guidelines

Participates and supports the operations HACCP & GMP Programs

Responsible for overseeing that lot  traceability activities are being followed according to SOP’s in the event of a “product recall”


  • Ability to work with a variety of Programmable Logic Controls
  • Understanding of vacuum packaging, scale delivery systems and liquid conveying a plus
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
  • Knowledge of safety/OSHA regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field or equivalent mechanical/technical certification and or training.
  • Food manufacturing experience in both processing and packaging required
  • Two to three years direct practical/hands-on experience in industrial repair and maintenance of electro-pneumatic-mechanical machines and systems
  • Three to- five years of management /supervisory experience
