Inventory Control Specialist

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory; reviewing and applying inventory activities, including movements and deletions, maintain and update inventory records, implementing efficient inventory management procedures such as conducting cycle counts, reconciling inventory discrepancies, implementing loss prevention measures and report any stock issues to management.

 

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for moving product from the receiving area to the primary stocking location and ensuring the product is stocked correctly, labeled correctly and packaged correctly.

 

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for proper inventory rotation (FIFO).

 

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining clean, neat and clearly identified storage locations in adherence to health and safety standards.

 

The Inventory Control Specialist participates in inventory move projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.

 

The Inventory Control Specialist must possess the ability to operate a powered pallet jack, manual pallet jack and willingness to be trained in the operation of the forklift. (AliMed will provide training)

 

The Inventory Control Specialist must be able to learn and use AliMed’s computerized inventory control system.

 POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Inventory Control Specialist must provide adequate service to the Operations Department when stocking.

 

Ensure that the stock location is the best available for the item based on item velocity.
Ensure space is adequate to accommodate the assigned quantity.
Ensure the product matches label for location.
Ensure the stocking locations are properly marked.
Conduct accurate cycle counts.
Advise Inventory Control when product location is inadequate.
Record all movement of inventory to secondary locations.

Advise Inventory Control Supervisor of inventory problems or issues.

Maintain a neat and orderly warehouse in accordance with AliMed Housekeeping Procedure.

Perform miscellaneous tasks such as picking, checking, packing, shipping and continuous improvement activity as required.

Other duties may be assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Person must possess a HS diploma/GED or equivalent and at least 2 years+ warehousing and inventory control experience including the use of computer systems.
Person must possess ability to read and write English.
Person must possess the ability to do basic math.
Person must possess good organizational skills.
Person must possess the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without restriction
