JOB DESCRIPTION: HVAC Technician Full Time Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The HVAC Technician supports processes that include, but are not limited to: Installs, maintains and repairs heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for commercial, institutional and industrial customers. Diagnoses diverse service issues of mechanical and electrical components, obtains replacement parts, calibrates system to manufacturer’s recommendations. Travels to job sites in service area and works with dispatch to ensure schedules are maintained. Maintains good working order of company vehicles. Maintains proper stock, parts, tools and safety equipment in the vehicle. Understands company pricing and generates appropriate customer work orders at job site. Documents all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements and pictures as necessary. Participates in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies. Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures.
Additional duties as assigned Requirements and Competencies: Five+ years experience in installation, maintenance and troubleshooting diverse commercial, institutional and industrial customers HVAC systems required Interest in developing commercial skills and possible entry into control systems EPA certification, MA Sheet Metal license, MA Refrigeration license and RI Refrigeration license desired or desire to obtain High School Degree/GED required Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spaces. Ability to work as a dedicated team member, while also working independently and in a timely manner. Ability to promote the company’s value-added services like service agreements, comfort enhancements and high efficiency equipment upgrades. Candidate needs to have a complete set of his/her own tools. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Availability to work nights and weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers. Availability for occasional overnight travel. Familiarity with operating an iPad and cloud-based scheduling and work order systems preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and manuals a plus.
Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; talk or hear; perform fine motor, arm, hand and finger skills in the use of tools, equipment, or writing. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend most of his/her time in a job site environment with potential high noise level. Job Type: Full-time
