Scope of Position
As a knowledgeable and accommodating staff member, you must anticipate guest needs and provide friendly, personalized service – exceeding expectations will be the department’s hallmark. You must be respectful of property and guest privacy, knowing that your ability to inspect, repair and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration units along with basic troubleshooting and repair of commercial equipment will have a direct impact on guest and team member satisfaction.
Position requires a five-day a week schedule. Working weekends, mid or overnight may be necessary.
Perform basic trouble shooting and repair of Central and Guest Room HVAC equipment.
Maintain central guest room floor and kitchen Ice machines
Maintain kitchen equipment and dish room equipment at the hotel and World Trade Center
Manage vendor contracts and repairs of kitchen equipment
Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, mechanical
Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
Establish and maintain a clean safe and organized work area.
Provide the highest quality of service to the guest always.
Perform intermittent repairs to common area and Guest Room, electrical systems such as lighting systems, television sets, furniture, bathrooms etc., as needed.
Respond in a timely manner to all work orders.
Practice safety standards always and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardous conditions immediately.
Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work on an energized system
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
Required Job Knowledge and Skills
Excellent HAVC-R trouble shooting and repair skills.
Familiarity with Massachusetts HVAC, Electrical and Refrigeration codes.
Excellent mechanical aptitude in two or more engineering disciplines, excelling in HVAC-R electrical and trouble shooting
Ability to read and interpret schematics and blue prints.
Knowledge of standard practices in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components
Able to work as a team as well as in individual settings
At least one years’ experience with HVAC-R repair; May be supplemented with education
Kitchen equipment maintenance experience Preferred
Universal refrigerant EPA Certification Preferred.
Valid driver’s license preferred.

Trade school training and associated relevant certifications
Fluency of the English language is required (read, write, speak)
