RL Associates, Inc. is a locally owned company established in 1985. We specialize in the design, installation, and maintenance of card access, video surveillance, and intrusion alarm systems for commercial and large scale residential developments.
Due to continued growth, RL Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full time Electronic Security Technician. The technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and programming electronic security equipment, systems, and associated components. The technician will install cabling, field equipment, electronic locking devices, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations accordingly to company and customer guidelines. The technician will be responsible for end user training. The right candidate will be trained to meet the role’s requirements.

Ability to multi task – effectively evaluates, prioritize, and manage assigned tasks
Ability to troubleshoot - (i.e. strong analytical and investigative skills)
Ability to accomplish individual tasks with minimal direct supervision while working productively in a team environment
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license – with satisfactory driving record
No criminal background and ability to pass background check, reference check, and drug screening
Ability to lift 60 pounds unassisted
Participate in after-hours, on-call support as needed
Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
Live within 10-15 miles of Arlington, Massachusetts
Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials
Work neatly and clean up installation debris
Ability to operate hand and power tools
Prior trade experience is not necessary - we prefer to train the individual!
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - BENEFICIAL BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Knowledge of electronic security equipment and applications (access control/CCTV/IP/Alarm systems)
Knowledge of cable infrastructure and installation techniques
Knowledge of electronic door hardware installation (strikes/locksets/mag locks)
Knowledge of electrical theory
Knowledge of construction
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
This is a salaried position, including health benefits and an annual bonus.
The technician will receive on the job training.
Further industry licensing and certification is encouraged. Some financial assistance is made available through company reimbursement program.
