Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Shift: 2nd Shift (1:00 PM – 9:30 PM) / 3rd Shift (9:00 PM – 5:30 AM)


Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment including but not limited to pneumatic presses, pumps, heat exchangers, refrigeration, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts and bearings. This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and are functioning safely and efficiently. Primary duties include providing safe and timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity with pneumatics and have basic troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Perform repairs in accordance with GMP, Nasoya Safety and OSHA requirements.

Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery.

Performs preventative maintenance inspection (PM); diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to automation controls, pneumatic presses, conveyors, robotic packager, case erectors, case sealers, compressors, motors, fans, pumps, sensors, tray sealers, forklifts, and building equipment.

Able to install and setup AC and DC Drives.

PLC troubleshooting and problem solving ability with practical, mechanical, & electrical aptitude.

Establishes and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules and advises Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times.

Inspects the quality of third party repairs and/or rebuilds.

Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality.

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.

Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.

Ability to perform under limited supervision.

Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to support operating schedule and the needs of the facility.

Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Nasoya/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Ability to read and interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings.

Assist in plant renovations and new equipment installations.

2 years of previous Plant or Facilities maintenance experience.

PLC experience - Required

VFD experience - Required

Controls oriented – Helpful

Electrical Troubleshooting – Required

Food Manufacturing experience – Helpful

Ammonia Refrigeration experience – Helpful

Sanitary Welding experience – Helpful

HACCP/GMP experience – Helpful

Willingness/Ability to work night shifts

Microsoft Office - Required
