Manage and coordinate existing work order management program ensuring data that is reliable, valid, and timely. Continually refine equipment inventory and preventive maintenance schedules.Planning,organizing, supervising and providing direction in relation to prioritization and assignment of work orders to the Electrical Shop employees, including inspection of work upon completion.

Identify and Communicate any facility related deficiencies on the campuses of Boston College. Anticipate work loads and adjust assignments to meet needs. Assignment of daily work for the staff in accordance with university standards. Order materials required for work completion, and issue requests for purchase orders.  Ensure that all work is in compliance with local codes and meets regulatory requirements.  Analyze and evaluate work to ensure efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement; and prepare reports and maintain records relating to all shop activities. Assignment of overtime to the union staff.

Additional responsibilities include: Assisting Electrical Operations Supervisor with capital project planning and management.  Instituting and executing and maintaining safety policies for the Electric Shop.  Event coverage for Athletic events when needed and other University events which can be on weekends. Will be responsible for serving on the on call duty rotation as outlined in the published schedule, roughly 6 times per year. Rotation begins at 4 PM on Friday and ends at 7 AM on Monday. During this duty, responsibilities include carrying a department pager and responding to emergency calls as they occur.    



Requirements
5-Years as a Licensed Journeyman Electrician Required.

Master Electrician License preferred.

Demonstrated record of growth, excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to make decisions in a high stress environment. Familiarity with computer programs such as Google email, documents, sheets, and Drive is preferred. Must be customer service oriented and possess the ability to communicate effectively with administrators, trades personnel, staff, and students.
