First Engineer & Second Engineer License Prep

First Engineer License Prep: This course will provide such knowledge and prepare students technically for the examination for the first-grade license. A First Class Engineer can take charge of any steam plant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services administers all firemen and stationary engineers’ licenses.

Second Engineer License Prep: A graduate of this course will understand the principles of combustion and economic firing. The calculations relating to safety valves and strength of steam boilers will be thoroughly understood, with their practical application. An understanding of the latest types of steam turbines and their auxiliaries, maintenance and operation must be thoroughly understood by the Second Class Engineer. The Massachusetts Department of Fire Services administers all firemen and stationary engineers’ licenses.
