The Peterson School is pleased to announce this new program recently approved by the Mass. Department of Public Safety
Objective: This correspondence course will allow a licensed Engineer or Fireman to fulfill the 30 hour requirement for renewal of their license as required in Chapter 146.
The Program - Effective January 1, 2002 All firemen and engineers are required to obtain 30 Hours of Continuing Education. All firemen and engineers licenses are on a five (5) year renewal cycle. The correspondence format is designed to offer students flexibility in course duration, scheduling and topics covered.
Once enrolled, a student selects 30 hours from a list of 44 hours of approved material. All the material selected, which includes lecture material, videos, and review questions will be sent to the student on a CD. The material must be read and review questions completed and submitted to the assigned instructor. This material can be submitted via email. When all assignments have been completed a final exam will be scheduled at the Peterson School. On succesful completion of the final exam with a minimum of 70 percent, a certificate of completion will be issued.
